The patient, a labourer from Dewas district, had undergone a primary hip replacement two years ago in another hospital. However, after falling from a roof, the implant broke again, leaving him completely unable to walk or work. Private hospitals had estimated the cost of this complex revision surgery at around ₹10–12 lakh, an amount far beyond the patient’s capacity. In this critical situation, the expert team at Index Hospital provided complete treatment free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, giving the patient a new lease on life.
