Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, in collaboration with the Dewas District Administration, Health Department, Women and Child Development Department, and Amaltas Hospital, has launched the Kilkari campaign — a unique initiative aimed at eradicating malnutrition among children in rural Madhya Pradesh. The launch event witnessed the participation of over 200 children from more than 200 villages, accompanied by their parents, ASHA workers, and Anganwadi staff. The event was graced by several dignitaries including MLA Khategaon Ashish Sharma, MLA Bagli Murli Bhanvara, Dewas Collector Shri Rituraj Singh, District Panchayat CEO Ms. Jyoti Sharma, CMHO Dr. Sarojini James Back, and other senior government and medical officials.
The program was inaugurated at Index Hospital with a commitment to provide comprehensive health assessments, nutritious diet plans, and continuous medical support to undernourished children.
Speaking at the event, Collector Shri Rituraj Singh described the Kilkari campaign as a powerful step to combat malnutrition with compassion and science. The campaign, which started at Amaltas Hospital, has now reached Index Hospital and is poised to set an example across the state and country. Dignitaries from Index Group including Vice Chairman Mr. Mayankraj Singh Bhadoriya, CEO HOSPITAL Mr. Bijith Diwakar, Additional Director Dr. R.C. Yadav, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Narang, Dean Dr. G.S. Patel, Medical Superintendent Dr. Swati Prashant,Dean Academics & Research Dr. Salil Bhargava, and Dr. Anuradha Jain extended their support and emphasized the group's commitment to social responsibility and rural healthcare access.
Dr. Swati Prashant stated that each child would receive a personalized health report created by a team of super-specialist doctors. The campaign also includes health education for mothers on nutrition and preventive care. District Panchayat CEO Ms. Jyoti Sharma remarked that Kilkari is not just a campaign but a robust platform to fight childhood malnutrition. The campaign was named Kilkari to reflect the joy and hope it brings ensuring that every child returns home healthier, with a smile, and every mother feels satisfied. This initiative reflects a united effort toward building a stronger, healthier future for rural India.
