Brain Tumor Surgery

This Diwali, a family from Bhopal received the greatest gift of all—a second chance at life for their 3-year-9-month-old daughter, who had been struggling with a severe brain tumor. The child was brought to Index Super Speciality Hospital where Dr. Kshitij Apurv Nigam and his team performed a complex 12-hour surgery, successfully removing the tumor and giving her a new lease on life. This surgery not only brought relief to the family but also became their most cherished Diwali gift—saving their daughter’s life.

The child’s father, Zubair Khan, shared that what initially seemed like a common fever and headache turned out to be a serious brain tumor. After several unsuccessful treatments at major hospitals in Indore, the family was referred to Index Hospital. After a thorough assessment and scans, the doctors recommended immediate surgery. Despite the high-risk nature of the procedure, Dr. Nigam and his team conducted the surgery with precision. Following 12 hours of surgery, the child was transferred to the Pediatric ICU, where she was monitored closely for 24 hours. Fortunately, her condition stabilized, and she was discharged just before Diwali.

The surgery itself was a complex procedure due to the size and location of the tumor, but Dr. Nigam explained that with the help of experienced neuro-anesthetists, they were able to carefully control the patient’s blood pressure during the surgery, which played a critical role in its success. The child’s recovery was closely monitored, and she is now doing well, much to the relief and joy of her family.

Index Super Speciality Hospital's Chairman, Mr. Suresh Singh Bhadoria, and Vice Chairman, Mr. Mayank Raj Singh Bhadoria, praised the medical team for their dedication and excellence in handling such a complex case. They emphasized that this successful surgery is a testament to the hospital's commitment to providing world-class healthcare, no matter how challenging the condition.
