Caring for the Health of Veterans: A Collective Responsibility

Index Multi Super Speciality Hospital has once again reaffirmed its commitment to excellence in advanced orthopaedic care through the successful surgical management of a 95-year-old female patient, Mrs. Keshar Bai, who sustained a Recognizing the invaluable contribution of soldiers and veterans to the nation, Index Super Speciality Hospital, under the visionary leadership of Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index Group of Institutions, in collaboration with Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Indore, organized a one-day Veteran Medical Camp at the Health and Wellness Centre campus in Mhow. The initiative was aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of ex-servicemen and their families by providing accessible, quality medical services. A large number of serving soldiers, veterans, and their dependents attended the camp and benefited from comprehensive health check-ups, expert medical consultations, and free distribution of essential medicines. The camp reflected Index Super Speciality Hospital’s commitment to community outreach and inclusive healthcare, especially for those who have dedicated their lives to national service. The medical camp was conducted under the guidance and active involvement of a distinguished panel of medical professionals and defence personnel. The event was graced by Lieutenant General M. G. Datar (Retd.), VSM, as the Chief Guest, and Veer Nari Neha Tomar as the Special Guest. Senior military officials including Brigadier Vinay Singh Chauhan (Commandant, Mhow), Colonel C. K. Paneri, Lieutenant Colonel Anil Kumar (Retd.), and representatives from ECHS Polyclinic Mhow were present, lending their support to the initiative. From Index Medical College and Hospital, Medical Superintendent Dr. Swati Prashant, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Dr. Ajay Singh Thakur, Dr. Sonali Mittal, and other dedicated professionals played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of medical services. The clinical operations were efficiently managed by Major Aditi Divya Nayak and Captain Srishti Chaubey, whose efforts were instrumental in delivering quality care. During the programme, speakers emphasized that veterans deserve continued care and respect even after retirement, and safeguarding their health is a shared responsibility of society and institutions. Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman, Index Group of Institutions, conveyed that serving the healthcare needs of soldiers and veterans is a matter of pride and duty for the Index Group.
