NEWS & EVENTS Successful Removal of Rare 3 kg Ovarian Cyst at Index Super Speciality Hospital In a remarkable medical achievement, the team at Index Super Speciality Hospital, Indore, successfully performed a complex surgery to remove a rare 3-kilogram serous cystadenoma from a female patient. The patient had been experiencing persistent abdominal pain, swelling, and discomfort for several months. Upon detailed investigation, doctors found a massive multi-loculated cyst measuring 18 × 28 × 26 cm, with a volume of nearly 7000 cc, situated above the uterus. The size and placement of the cyst were causing significant pressure on surrounding organs, necessitating urgent surgical intervention. The intricate three-hour operation was led by Dr. Pooja Devdhar, Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Genecology, with support from junior residents Dr. Barkha Singh Parmar, Dr. Manorama, and Dr. Sonali. Despite the complexity and risks associated with such a large and rare growth, the team executed the procedure with precision and care. Their coordinated efforts ensured the complete and safe removal of the cyst without complications. Following the surgery, the patient’s condition stabilized, and she is now recovering well under the hospital’s post-operative care. Dr. Pooja Devdhar confirmed that the cyst was non-cancerous, but emphasized that if left untreated, it could have led to severe health complications. She urged women not to ignore symptoms like persistent abdominal pain, bloating, or menstrual irregularities, as these can be early signs of serious gynecological issues. Early diagnosis and timely medical attention can make a life-saving difference. We remain committed to delivering exceptional healthcare with compassion, cutting-edge technology, and a patient-first approach. This successful surgery not only highlights the expertise of our medical team but also reinforces our mission to provide advanced and accessible treatment to all. Share this entry
